Kiwi was named after the Kiwi bird because both have fuzzy brown skin.
Kiwi fruits are usually eaten raw. They can be eaten whole or cut into quarters like an orange. Another way to eat them is to cut them in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Add slices to fruit salads, salsa or cereal.

Children need healthy meals for effective learning. The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Community School District offers healthy foods each and every school day. Our school nutrition department is made up of a great team of nutrition professionals that are dedicated to providing nutritious meals that support our students' health, well-being and ability to learn.
All meals, foods and beverages sold or served at our schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Child Nutrition Guidelines.
